When Trusting God Feels Like a Leap

Hey Sweet Reader,

Do you ever feel like trusting God is less like a gentle step forward and more like a leap of faith?

Almost like you’re standing on the edge of a wide chasm, praying His arms really are there to catch you?

Life has this way of twisting and turning in directions we never expected.

And honestly?

Most of it isn’t easy.

Some seasons are downright hard.

While I was reading and writing out the verses for our Christmas Bible Reading Plan (you are doing it with me, right?)

I found myself completely taken with Joseph’s response to the angel’s warning.

He didn’t panic.

He didn’t stall.

He didn’t ask for confirmation.

He immediately gathered Mary and little Baby Jesus and fled to Egypt in the middle of the night!

  • What faith!
  • What courage!
  • What obedience in an uncertain season!

It’s an incredible moment in Matthew 2:13–15 (NKJV) that has been challenging my own heart.

I want that kind of trust—instant, humble obedience even when God’s leading doesn’t make sense.

And friend… December is exactly the kind of month that tests our trust, isn’t it?

  • The pace picks up!
  • The lists get long!
  • The emotions get tangled!
  • And stress creeps into the cracks we didn’t even know were open!

For me, the only way to keep my heart anchored is by staying in the Word every single day.

That’s why this Christmas Bible Reading Plan means so much to me.

It slows me down, centers my heart, and gives me a whole month to soak in the beauty of Jesus’ redemptive story.

Another thing that has helped me dramatically is the Creating Christmas Calm Bootcamp.

I desperately need calm each December as the countdown to Christmas accelerates and all the “must-do’s” swirl around me.

Even with a simplified version of Christmas, I still feel the pressure. Maybe you do too?

That’s why I created this little Bootcamp—to give you both spiritual encouragement and practical help.

  • Short devotionals!
  • Journaling art!
  • Simple home-prep videos!

Shaped by years of my own struggles… and by God’s faithfulness in the middle of them.

So here’s my heart:

I don’t know if you have everything together better than I do (and if you do, please come teach me! 😉), but my prayer is that the days leading up to Christmas will find you calm, steady, and held tightly by Jesus.

And if you’re struggling—even a little—please hit reply and ask me to pray for you. Truly. It’s almost as if you’re sitting with me in my kitchen, talking heart to heart.

🎄 Two Sections Covered in the Bootcamp:

1) Christ-Centered Devotional Section

Video devotionals and journaling art that walk you from Genesis all the way to the birth of Jesus—helping you slow down and savor the grand story leading to Christmas.

2) Practical Christmas Prep Section

Videos that help you tackle your home, create calm, and follow a simple rhythm of preparation so you can get everything done with much less stress.

Have you downloaded your FREE Christmas Bible Reading Plan? It pairs perfectly with everything we’re doing this month in Jesus Journaling.

Only by His grace,
Judith

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, sweet Reader, I’ll be stepping fully offline from December 21–31 to rest, be present with my family, and prepare my heart for the new year. During this time, I won’t be sharing devotionals, interacting in Jesus Journaling, sending emails, or responding to messages. Thank you for your grace and understanding. I’m so grateful for you and look forward to reconnecting in January. “Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10 I hope your Christmas is filled with peace and joy,...
