Memorial Day Is More Than Picnics

Hey Reader,

I can hardly believe Memorial Day Weekend is already here, and summer officially begins next week!

After some rainy days here in Wisconsin, I’m more than ready for sunshine, fresh air, and maybe even a picnic by the lake.

How about you?

But as we head into a weekend filled with cookouts, family gatherings, and red-white-and-blue celebrations, I hope we also pause to remember what Memorial Day truly represents.

Memorial Day is More Than Picnics!

Over the past few months, with so much conflict happening around the world, I’ve found myself thinking more deeply about the freedoms we often take for granted.

So many men and women gave their lives defending those freedoms.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying a picnic or gathering with family this weekend. In fact, those simple moments are part of the blessing of freedom. But I never want to forget the sacrifice behind them.

That’s why I shared a short YouTube video called Memorial Day Is More Than Picnics.”

I hope you’ll take a few minutes to watch it this weekend.

And if it encourages you, I’d love for you to hit the LIKE button and SUBSCRIBE while you’re there!

What are your plans for Memorial Day Weekend?

I’d truly love to hear. Just hit reply and tell me what you’re doing!

Genesis Bible Reading Plan

Hello Sweet Reader, Last weekend, we returned home from a 3,000-mile road trip visiting family and friends. It was such a sweet time filled with hugs, laughter, conversations, and precious moments with people we love. My heart feels full and grateful. But after so many miles on the road, I have to admit… there’s something extra comforting about pulling back into your own driveway, sleeping in your own bed, and settling back into familiar routines again. Home has a way of wrapping us in peace...
