🌿Is Anxiety Building Instead of Gratitude?

Hey Reader,

As quick as a wink, the first week of November has passed—and Christmas is coming waaay too quickly!

I’d love to say that anxiety doesn’t build inside my heart just because I write about it here at His Unmeasured Grace . . . but this past week, I failed!

Can I handle all the baking? What gifts should I get for our changing and growing family members?

Will the chaos and fun unravel me—or will I have calm during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons?

I don’t know about you, but there can be a lot of drama surrounding these holidays.

Because I struggle with the same things as you, I want you to know you’re not alone. 💛

During the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing tips and resources to help you cultivate gratitude and calm as these special days approach.

🌸 Cultivating Gratitude as a Lifestyle

Are you cultivating gratitude as a lifestyle because Thanksgiving Day is almost here? Let’s choose gratitude every single day!

The Bible tells us to “magnify the Lord and exalt His name together” (Psalm 34:3 NKJV). Gratitude is more than a passing feeling—it’s a posture of the heart that sees God’s hand in everything, from the smallest blessings to the hardest trials.

When we practice thankfulness daily, we shift our focus from what’s lacking to the One who provides. Gratitude draws our hearts closer to Jesus and reminds us that every breath, every sunrise, and every moment is a gift from Him.

Take a moment today to pause, breathe deeply, and thank the Lord. Write down three simple blessings in your journal—perhaps a warm hug, a song that lifted your spirit, or the quiet assurance of God’s love.

These small acts of gratitude build a lifestyle of worship that lasts far beyond Thanksgiving Day.

I hope this blesses and helps you! You’ll find similar devotionals in Jesus Journaling, where we’re illustrating Scripture and sharing journaling art on gratitude throughout November.

Hey Reader! Can you believe that November starts tomorrow? This year slipped by waay too fast! All you have to do is stop by Walmart to know that the holidays are coming quickly. It's easy to imagine the cozy gatherings, laughter around the table, and the aroma of pumpkin pie filling the air. You do love pumpkin, right? Yet, you might be like me, and also find yourself feeling overwhelmed -- with long to-do lists, family tension, and a weary heart. Maybe you’ve felt that tug between wanting to...

How To Grow in Faith: A Grace-Filled Journey of Fruitful Growth

A Grace-Filled Journey of Fruitful GrowthHey Sweet Reader,Have you ever longed to grow deeper in your faith but wondered how? In 2 Peter 1:5–11, Peter gives us a spiritual roadmap — a step-by-step guide for cultivating a heart that flourishes in Christ. It all begins with this beautiful truth: “His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him.” That phrase — “through the knowledge of Him” — is the heartbeat of our faith. It’s not...

Martha’s Overwhelm & Jesus’ Response Hey Sweet Friend 💕 Have you ever found yourself doing all the things—serving your family, cleaning, cooking, caring—and wondering if anyone even notices? Maybe you’re exhausted before the day is done, and resentment quietly starts to rise in your heart. I’ve been there too. Just this past week, I finished everything for the day at 10 p.m!My sister lives 1000 miles away, and it would be silly to expect her help—but my husband was right in the next room,...
