Bible Journaling on the Road: Carrying Your Quiet Time Wherever You Go

Hey sweet Reader,

No matter where you live, the weather is warming up… and that usually means one thing—more time on the road, visiting family, or stepping into a little summer adventure.

That’s exactly where I’ve been these past couple of weeks. And I have to tell you… it’s been both refreshing and full of those simple, joy-filled moments that stay with you.

Now, if you love Bible journaling as much as I do, you might wonder if your Quiet Time has to take a back seat while you’re traveling.

The honest answer? Sometimes, yes—some mornings just don’t go as planned. But that doesn’t mean it has to disappear altogether.

What I’ve discovered is that journaling can gently flow into your day in ways that feel natural instead of forced.

One of my favorite moments lately has been sitting down with my granddaughter—paintbrushes in hand, a few colors spread out, and hearts wide open. She’s only seven, but oh, how she lights up when we draw and paint together.

There’s something so special about watching little hands create… and even more beautiful when you weave God’s Word into it. A simple Bible verse added to their artwork can plant seeds that last a lifetime.

And can I just say—vacation is actually a lovely time to grow your own creativity too. Without the usual rush, you can try new colors, experiment a little, and enjoy the process instead of worrying about perfection.

Whether you’re traveling across the country or simply enjoying slower summer days at home, journaling art can become a meaningful way to connect—with the Lord and with the people you love.

If you have little ones (or grandkids) in your life, this is such a sweet season to invite them into it. Keep it simple. Keep it joyful. Let it be about time together more than anything else.

And I would absolutely love to see what they create…

If this is something you do with the kids in your life, just hit reply and send me a picture of their artwork. It would bring the biggest smile to my face. 💛

You’re not falling behind this summer, friend—you’re simply learning to walk with Jesus in a different rhythm… one that still holds so much beauty.
